You Have Got To Watch Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain

I'm not a big fan of network cooking shows so I was skeptical when a friend of mine told me I had to watch Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel. He told me it was cool because he didn't sit in a studio and wax nostalgic about his 28 years as a chef in New York. Instead, he traveled to many popular and not so popular places to learn about people and their food. Not exactly hooked but interested, I decided to give him a try.

I was very pleasantly surprised.

Anthony Bourdain Is A Foodie Icon

The thing that has made him a household name with "foodies" and world travelers alike is his burning passion to experience a culture's food through the eyes of the people who make it great-everyday people. There are plenty of shows you can watch to see the highlights of any country and its accomodations. Anthony seeks out the people upon whose backs the countries and/or regions were built. For him, these are the the only people who know what good food really is.

You may not agree with his politics or world view but none of that matters. If you watch one episode you'll see that he studies world history and culture and truly respects the people he's interviewing. You'll also see how eager he is to learn and experience more.

I definitely recommend you check him out. You can also download past programs from the Anthony Bourdain - No Reservations store. You'll find all the episodes, his podcast and books as well. Don't miss his blog either.

Give Tony a look and I think you'll be hooked too!

I absolutely dig Anthony Bourdain and am a tad jealous about travelling foodies who get paid to do what he does – it’s amazing!

I didn’t know he has a blog, but now that I think about it, why wouldn’t he?

    Hey Elijah,

A buddy of mine turned me onto him and I’m hooked. Luckily, he’s on at lunch time so me and my dog can watch him before going back to work.

He’s a great writer and an excellent host.

Thanks for stopping by. You’re still in my feed and will stay there.

    Jeff
